GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Kelly Monaco Is Recovering From Hip Surgery

Tags:

Please join us in sending best wishes to GENERAL HOSPITAL star Kelly Monaco (Sam) who is in the hospital recovering from surgery on her hip. “After over a decade of suffering from chronic, excruciating pain from a torn labrum in my hip, I have finally taken the first steps in bettering my health and myself. Looking forward to many positive changes coming soon!”

The labrum is a rim of soft tissue or fibrocartilage that surrounds the hip socket. It adds to the stability of the hip by deepening the socket and protecting the joint surface. Symptoms can include a clicking or locking in your hip joint, stiffness, or pain.

“Thank you, Heath Freeman, for holding my hand and drying my tears pre- and post-surgery,” Monaco said. “Then stocking my home to keep my comfy while healing.”

If you click on the arrows in Monaco’s Instagram post above, you can see some of the bouquets of flowers she received. “Thank you Frank Valentini and GH for the beautiful ‘get well’ flowers,” she shared. “and thanks to that guy at work who always has my back, for being a cheer-up florist and an awesome handyman!”

Hopefully, Monaco’s recovery is smooth and she’s back in fighting form soon. And hopefully, this won’t impact her time at GH and they were able to write her sick leave into the scripts to explain Sam’s absence! Get well soon!
