In the spring of 2017, Kirsten Storms took another break from playing Maxie Jones on GENERAL HOSPITAL, and while she has taken time off from the soap in the past, she later revealed that this most recent break was due to her battle with depression. Thankfully, the actress is doing much better now. “It’s been over a year since my last break from work and I feel great,” Storms told Soaps In Depth. “I’m just working, hanging out with my kid, and living life.”
Storms gets plenty of love from Harper, her four-year-old daughter with ex-husband Brandon Barash (ex-Johnny), but she also has a new man in her life who is making her happier than ever, musician Elias Paul Reidy. “I’m also back in a relationship with someone I was with for four years in my early 20s,” she confided. “Back when I thought I knew everything! God, I was so stupid. You get to your 30s and you realize not only do you still not know everything, but your parents don’t know everything, either.
“You spend your whole life learning, and I’ve finally gotten that,” Storms concluded. “I understand that people make mistakes, you can’t put pressure on somebody else to always have the answers, and I have to just do things that make me happy in life. So I’m doing good!”
It’s wonderful to see Storms so happy again, and hopefully Maxie’s storyline will take a happier turn on GH after all the grief and drama the character has been through.
