Ouch! Please join us in wishing GENERAL HOSPITAL star Kirsten Storms (Maxie) a speedy recovery after she injured her left hand in a summer playtime accident. "Always a good idea to make sure there are no sprinkler heads underneath the Slip 'N' Slide before takeoff," she joked as she posted a selfie in the mirror showing off her left wrist encased safely in a brace. "No big deal — no broken bones, just a very swollen and partially black hand."
Unfortunately, although her hand and wrist aren't broken, they're still causing quite a bit of pain, which is impacting one of Storms' favorite hobbies, and the knit-along she's been doing with fans via Instagram. "Emme Rylan (Lulu) has already seen me try to knit like this," she admitted. "It wasn't cute and was excruciatingly slow (okay, okay, and also painful). To all the #SummerKnitAlongWithEmAndK people — I'm down, but not out! You haven't seen the last of my Downtown Cardigan.
"Side note: I wish I had a picture of the orthopedic doctor's face after he told me not to be using my left hand and I very seriously asked him if that also meant no knitting," she added. "It was Instagram-worthy."
There's no indication yet whether GH will write around Storms' injury or write it into Maxie's storyline in some way. Hopefully, it will heal quickly enough that it won't make any difference. Veteran actress Leslie Charleson recently appeared as Monica in an episode wearing a brace after she underwent surgery for a fractured hand, so it shouldn't have too much of an impact. We're still waiting to see if Carly breaks her foot like portrayer Laura Wright did in real life! Get well soon!
