GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Maurice Benard Shares His Daughter’s Magical Marriage Proposal
Congratulations to GENERAL HOSPITAL star Maurice Benard (Sonny), whose family is about to expand! The actor shared video of his daughter, Cailey, getting engaged to her boyfriend, Carlos! “I really can’t say a lot because I’m bawling like a baby,” the proud pop declared. “I love my daughter and I love her husband-to-be. Carlos made us all very happy.”
The entire clan was visiting Disneyland, and in front of a “roaring” fireplace at the Beauty and the Beast castle, Carlos dropped to one knee and presented Cailey with the ring. Overwhelmed, Cailey was in tears as she said: “No, you’re joking.” Carlos also looked pretty nervous as he held her hand in one hand and the ring in the other. “I love you so much,” he smiled. “And I knew this would be a great place… Will you marry me?” Naturally, Cailey said yes, and everyone applauded as she happily hugged and kissed her fiancé.
Cailey herself shared a closeup photo of the beautiful ring on her own Instagram and declared: “The happiest place on Earth just got that much happier!” You might have noticed that there was writing on the ring box, which you couldn’t read in Benard’s video of the proposal. But in Cailey’s series of photos of the magical moment, you can see that it’s a Beauty and the Beast-themed box that reads: “Tale as old as time.” So romantic!
